Boot you virtual machine from a physical disk partition.
Before VMWare Server version 2.0 (including v1.0, and GSX server), there w=
as a option to select physical disk during the process of creating a new vi=
rtual machine. For version 2.0, the feature seems disappeared. But you can =
add a physical disk by adding a passthrough SCSI Device. T=
o figure out which device points to which disk, you can check dmesg on your host.
dmesg |grep sg
I successfully boot my guest Ubuntu on my physical disk. But I failed to= boot Windows XP, which gives me a blue screen after the windows logo scree= n. Here is a link which tell me to prepare a profile on the gust XP, but It= didn't help. Finally, I just gave up to cut off the loss of time. http://www.vmware.com/support/gsx3/doc/= disks_dualboot_gsx.html
