Start Synaptic Package Manager
Install mysql-server and all required packages.
During the installation, debconf tool will ask you to decide the password of MySQL "root" user.
Install phpmyadmin and all required packages.
During the installation, debconf tool will ask you to decide which web server to reconfigure automatically: apache2/lighttpd (I checked both)
Configure database for phpmyadmin with dbconfig-common? Yes
After installation, you can access your database from browserhttp://localhost/phpmyadmin/
