Librarians in the Research Services division are expected to keep their Google Calendar current re planned absences or commitments.  The actual nature of the commitment or absence can, of course, be kept private (displaying only "busy"), but their calendar needs to be current to allow staff throughout the library to determine availability for meetings or assistance in an effective manner.

Emails and/or notes on the physical whiteboard are not an acceptable substitute.  (Such attempts at substitute are not generally available to all staff - including the university librarian - nor are they available from a remote location or during evening/weekend hours when supervisors do planning and scheduling.)

Librarian in Research Services, with duty assignments at the Reference Desk, must list planned absences on the reference calendar as well as on their personal calendars.
