Once the Metadata/Copy Cataloging Team lead has completed their review and assessment of the the Historical Image Spreadsheet, the spreadsheet will then get moved into the appropriate Senior Metadata Assistant's Historical Image folder. An email will then be sent to that person saying that a completed spreadsheet is in their folder and is ready for review. The name of the spreadsheet is included in the email.

Open up the spreadsheet.

First, unhide everything. You can do this by clicking on the arrow button to highlight the whole spreadsheet.

Then right click on a column and click on unhide. Now everything has been unhidden.

Next, you want to unhightlight the columns. To do this, you click on the number one to select the whole column.

Now, click on the arrow next to the paint icon and choose the no fill option.

Next you need to review the text that is in dc.description[en_US] column. This is where all the metadata description goes. Read it over and make and necessary changes. It is also good to Spell Check the information in that section.

Also, check these fields and make changes as needed.

Now, check the dc.subject.lcsh[eng] column. This is the ONLY place that should have the subject headings that the catalogers have suggested. If the subject headings have been put in another column, move them to this column.

IMPORTANT: The dc.subject.lcsh[en_US] should only have

Check the spellings and remove all — (Alt 0151) and replace with --

NOTE: If there is a title change, highlight the title that was changed. Also email Amanda about the title change.

Once that is done, save the spreadsheet. Move it to the Z:\HistoricalImages\Metadata Enhancement folder, email Amanda letting her know that the spreadsheet is in there.

Also, move it the T:\TechServ\Cataloging\Digital Projects\Historical Images\Completed Spreadsheets
