If there is no audio through your headset/headphone, or the internal laptop speaker is not muted when headphones are plugged in, follow these steps:

  1. Type "task manager" in the search bar next to the Start Menu
  2. Click Task Manager to open the app
  3. Click More details
  4. Go to the Startup tab


  5. Select "Realtek HD Audio Universal Service" and click Disable
  6. Close all applications and restart the computer.
