Sometimes when fixing a paper jam, the plotter will get moved rigorously and the media sensor can fall out of place. This will cause the printer to no longer sense loading paper and it will not finish feeding in the paper roll.
To fix, simply seat it back into the sensor mount. It should lightly snap in. Notice the sensor #3 in the diagram. The lever should be protruding into the slot:
