Accessing the Data

To add contour lines to your map, you will need to identify the bayou watershed that your focus area is in.

  1. In ArcGIS Pro, in the Catalog Pane, right click on the Folders and choose "add folder connection" then navigate to O:\Cataloged\Local\HarrisHouston\HarrisCountyFloodControlDistrict then choose TropicalStormAllisonRecoveryProject and add it as a new folder connection.
  2. In the Catalog Pane, expand the TropicalStormAllisonRecoveryProject folder and expand the TSARP.gdb and then expand the Contours.
  3.  Drag the feature class Watershed_Index to your map window.
  4. In ArcGIS Pro, use the Explore tool to find the name of the bayou watershed (there may be more than one).

  5. Right click the name of the layer you just added and select Remove.
  6. Look in the same geodatabase and find the watershed file(s) with bayou names you need. You can preview the contours of the bayous you want before proceeding.
  7. Drag the watershed file(s) that you identified into your map.

You will also need to clip your file(s) to your area of interest. Then, if you have two or more watershed files, you will need to merge them (be sure both files are clipped first).

If you want to make your contours 3D, check the Export to Rhino section.
