Introduction and Installation
Audacity is a free, open-source software package designed for recording and editing audio. With Audacity you can record, edit, and export audio files using formats WAV, AIFF, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, IRCAM, and AU. Audacity does not support the Windows proprietary WMA format or Apple's AAC, for information about converting these file types using iTunes, refer to our File Type Conversion and Burning a CD guide.
