Installing and Setting Up the Pcounter Client on Mac
1 1. Click here to download the Pcounter client.
2. You will see this page on the web browser and click Download.
3. Click on the "Login" option to log in to Rice Box and get the Pcounter client.
In your web browser, you’ll be taken to the Rice Box login page.
Click "Login" and enter your Rice credentials.
3. After logging in, click 4. Click "Continue" to proceed to login to Rice Box and get the Pcounter Client.
5. You will see this page and click on the Download option on top4. On the next page, click the "Download" button at the top of the screen.
6. Click 5. If prompted, click "Allow" on this option to Allow approve the downlaoddownload.
7. Click on the "PcounterClientMac 23.7.1" to download.
8. 6. You will see the Pcounter client in the Download folder on your Mac.
Setting Pcounter to Launch at Login
1. Open System Settings on your Mac9. Now you will go to the "System Settings" again to have the client load when you login.
102. Go to "General " and go to "> Login Items & Extensions".
113. Click on Click the "+" sign button to add an application to this group so it will start automaticallya new application.
124. Go Navigate to the download your Downloads folder and , select the "Pcounter Client" application, and click on the "Open".
13. You will see the "Pcounter Client" has been added to this group to automatically load when you login.
Open.
5. You’ll now see the Pcounter Client listed in Login Items. It will automatically launch when you log in.
Follow the steps below to add printers manually.
- Go to "System Settings" on your Mac.
2. Go down to the "Printer and Scanners" section and select it.
3. Click on the "Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax...".
4. Go to the IP section on top and enter "jgsps2.rice.edu" on the Address line. Select the Line Printer Daemon - LPD Protocol and enter the printer Queue Name as show below. Click on the image below to expand. Click on Add.
5. Make sure you enable the Duplex Priting Unit option and click Ok.
6. Once you finish, you will see printer 315BW has been added.
7. Continue with installing all of the rest of the student printers listed below.
