You can disable the Start screen in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
When you open an office 2013 program, a start screen automatically displays showing you the various templates available and a list of recent documents opened in the left column. If you find this screen annoying, you can easily disable it.
- Go to the File Menu in Word and select Options.
2. Under the General option, uncheck the box next to “Show the Start screen when the applications starts” and click OK.
