You can print any document double-sided automatically on the HP Color Laserjet 5550 printer, which is located at the service desk.
Mac - On a Mac, the same process holds for Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Preview, Safari, etc. It does not matter what kind of document or format you are using.
- Open your document in your preferred program
- Go to File > Print
- Choose a printer - Choose DMC Color Printer from the printer drop-down menu.
- From the drop-down menu dividing the print screen (usually Copies & Pages is selected), choose layout.
- From the Two-Sided drop-down menu, select either Long-Edge Binding or Short-Edge Binding
- For a document in portrait orientation, Long-Edge Binding prints both sides top-to-bottom
- For a document in landscape orientation, Short-Edge Binding prints top-to-bottom
- For a document in Portrait orientation, Short-Edge Binding, prints ne side top-to-bottom and the reverse side bottom-to-top, as they would appear on a legal pad or legal document.
- For a document in landscape orientation, Long-Edge Binding prints one side top-to-bottom and the reverse side bottom-to-top, as they would appear when flipping through a calendar.
- Hit Print
PC - On a PC, the same process holds for Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Firefox, etc.
Microsoft Word
- Hit the Office Button > Print > Print
- Under "Printer", select DMC Color from the drop-down menu.
- Click "Properties" next to the drop-down menu.
- Under the printing shortcuts tab, there is a box with the option for Two-Sided (Duplex) Printing. Select this option.
- Choose your orientation.
- From the "Print on both sides" drop-down menu choose either "Yes, flip over" or "Yes, flip up".
- Yes, flip over prints both sides top-to-bottom, as they would appear in a book.
- Yes, flip up prints one side top-to-bottom and the reverse side bottom-to-top, as they would appear in a legal document or calendar.
- Hit "OK" at the bottom of the window.
- Hit "Print".
