Change an "unlinked account" password (ORGANIZATION or DEPARTMENT account)

Assuming that the client has been setup as the "owner" of an organization or departmental
account in apply.rice.edu, they may change it's password at anytime by following these
instructions for Individual Accounts (unlinked accounts)

Go to URL: Apply Accounts Management

  • From the Left-Hand Menu:

-> Select "Login"
and login with YOUR NetID(account name) and NetID(or email) password

-> Select "Account Maintenance"
-> Select "Change/Sync Password"

You will see a list of ALL the accounts you own.

Under the Section "Individual Accounts":

You will find special COURSE or ORGANIZATION or DEPARTMENTAL type of
accounts that have their OWN unique password; that are owned by you.

Selecting an account's button and then selecting
"Change single account password"
will ONLY change the unique password for the account you selected.

Under the Section "NetID Account":
====================================

You will find all the different types of user accounts named with
your Account Name (NetID). These accounts all SHARE your NetID password-
that is, they are all linked to use your NetID password.

You may select EITHER:
"Change NetID password" to change your current
NetID password, which will also cause that password to be synchronized
to all your NetID accounts.
– OR --:
You may also just select "Resynchronize NetID Password" if you want to
keep your current NetID password, but force it to be synchronized to
all your NetID accounts now.

Password changes will take effect within 5 minutes.

If you need to CHANGE ACCOUNT ownership

If the client is not the current owner of an ORGANIZATION or DEPARTMENTAL account, but
should be, submit an RT ticket requesting that ownership be changed, and CC the current
owner of the account, if known, for verification and approval to transfer ownership.
