Dr. Lora Wildenthal, Professor of History, Chair of the History Department, and Faculty Affiliate of the Center for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality at Rice, who last year conducted the intergenerational project in which some of our members participated, will report on the outcome of the program and ways in which it was valuable to all those involved.

A Morning of Literary Entertainment with Dr. Thomas F. Freeman and his debate students. Dr. Freeman is Distinguished Professor of Forensics, Head Coach of the internationally acclaimed Texas Southern University Debate team, and Director of the Honors College at Texas Southern University. Dr. Freeman served as a lecturer in the Rice Religion Department from 1972-94. His wife is our distinguished member, Clarice E. Freeman.

Outing to Asia House, in the heart of the Museum District, 1370 Southmore Boulevard. Lunch is at Noon with a tour following. There is no charge for the tour, but a $5.00 fee to enter the gallery. Lunch is $10.00-$12.00. The tour will last between 45 minutes and an hour. There is free street parking nearby, and a lot that charges $4.00 just across the street. Sign-up sheets and menus to be filled out will be available at the meeting on November 13th, for return to Asia House by November 15. The Asia House contact number is 713-496-9915.

Rienzi outing: The Azalea Trail is the previous week, and the azaleas should still be beautiful on the 14th.
There will be sign-up sheets at the January and February meetings, as reservations must be confirmed by February 14.
Tour begins at 11:00 a.m., so arrive a few minutes ahead of that. Rienzi is located at 1406 Kirby Drive in River Oaks, about a half-mile past San Felipe as you go north towards town. The gated entrance is between Lazy Lane and Shadder Way. It is on the west side of Kirby. There is a parking court in front of the house, but space is limited.
