- Check system and LC authority files for names and series.
- Edit records to conform to name and series authorities and make print-outs for authority work (see Name and Title Authority Guidelines for Catalogers and Series Authority Guidelines for Catalogers, Section VI, Chapters A and B).
- Check call number index for conflicts and to determine Cutter number. When a call number conflict exists with related editions, check schedules to determine correct call number and make out boxwork slips as necessary to change old call number.
- Load Order or Create Copy as necessary.
