Items 40 centimeters tall or wide are considered oversize (except in Brown Library where different standards prevail (see Item Types—Defined and Described, Section X, Chapter C).

If there is also an analytic record for an oversize volume which is part of a set or serial, oversize information appears on the record for the analytic as well as on the set or serial record.
