Next you need to review the text that is in dc.description[en_US] column. This is where all the metadata description goes. Read it over and make and necessary changes. It is also good to Spell Check the information in that section.

Also, check these fields and make changes as needed.

  • dc.contributor.author[en_US]
  • dc.contributor.illustrator[en_US]
  • dc.contributor.interviewer[en_US]
  • dc.contributor.photographer[en_US]
  • dc.contributor.publisher[en_US]

 

Now, check the dc.subject.lcsh[eng] column. This is the ONLY place that should have the subject headings that the catalogers have suggested. If the subject headings have been put in another column, move them to this column.

IMPORTANT: The dc.subject.lcsh[en_US] should only have

  • Rice University--History
    or
  • Lovett, Edgar Odell, 1871-1957--Travel||William M. Rice Institute--Travel||Lovett World Tour (1908-1909)

 

Check the spellings and remove all — (Alt 0151) and replace with --

 

Once that is done, save the spreadsheet. Move it to the Z:\HistoricalImages\Metadata Enhancement folder, email Amanda letting her know that the spreadsheet is in there.

Also, move it the T:\TechServ\Cataloging\Digital Projects\Historical Images\Completed Spreadsheets
