Processing Sound Recordings

 

 

1.  GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

The call number is not written on a sound recording but is given on a white flag.

The call number is penciled on each piece of printed material that fits inside the case and circulates with the recording.  If the guide is separate from the sound recording or is for more than one sound recording, it is given a separate item record and barcode, an item type of BOOK -CD and the descriptive term “Text” as in the last element of the call numberdescription field of the item record and the Item policy should be changed to Item circulates for 4 weeks.

3.  MARKING

 Sound recordings are placed on the shelf labeled “CDs + CD-ROMs to be marked” near the Marking Table.
