Red – for Reference materials
Brown – for Woodson Research Center
Yellow – for materials restricted to Library Use Only
Blue – for Rush or BIC materials
Green – to Notify a specific person
White – for Book Plates, LSC items, changes, and miscellaneous notes
Gold – pages in book need to be cut
Lavender – book needs tattletape
Purple – for Friends of Fondren books
Gray – local note (field 590) needs to be added to record indicating the book is a gift (see
Gifts and Memorials Fund Purchases)
Pink – for books to be shelved in the Brown Fine Arts Library (usually non-N schedule)
Salmon – for YBP returns
Orange - for Leisure Reading Collection books
Cover/Slip Flag – for books where the dust jacket or slipcase is to be kept. These books
will receive a CoLibri plastic bookcover by In-house Binding (see Book Preparation). Flags are inserted in item by selector.
