LSC Flags are placed in each item that is being transferred or returned to the LSC. All items are then placed on the DBM shelves and the LSC staff (usually James) is notified that there are items ready for pickup. These flags are white and are NOT the same flags as used in the cataloging process.
Types of flags
- LSC/FL – regular items
- WEST - for fill-in serial volumes for the WEST Project
- Specl/UC -- LSC-SPECL items
- LSC-WRC -- WRC items
- Rarely used
- Most WRC books are charged out by the LSC staff in the WRC as part of the transfer process.
- Refiles – items already accessioned to the LSC
- These items are NOT charged out to LSC-INPROC before transfer
- Items may have been to repair or binding
- they should have been charged out to the Binding account, but aren't always.

- Home and Current locations are both LSC
- Original barcode is pasted with just the numbers of the barcode on the title page or it is paper-clipped to the title page
