• Creative Commons Search - search media that is licensed under Creative Commons. Creative Commons licenses allow that material to be shared and reused under terms that are flexible and legally sound. There are six CC licenses.
• Vecteezy: Download free vector art, stock photos & videos at https://www.vecteezy.com/
• Noun Project: A fantastic resources to find icons related to the concepts you need to visualize in your infographic design. Most of the icons are free for use under CC. (Credit example, for instance, Created by author first name, author last name from Noun Project).
• Flaticon:The largest database of free icons available in PNG, SVG, EPS, PSD and BASE 64 formats at https://www.flaticon.com/
• Fontawesome: Get vector icons and social logos on your website with Font Awesome https://fontawesome.com/
• WikiMedia Commons - an online host site for Creative Commons images, sounds, and other media.
• Google Images , Settings -> Advanced Search, usage rights -> free to use or share.
• Richard Harrington's Blog - a list of free images websites.
• digCCmixter Music Discovery - Large library of CC music. Need to copy+paste credits for most.
• Jamendo - (Not free, licensing starts at $5)

• Incompetech - large library of CC music. Only requirement is that you copy+paste the credits into your work!

• https://unsplash.com/ Beautiful, free photos. Gifted by the world’s most generous community of photographers.

Images in the public domain for which there is no fee or licensing:

• Government photos: State and federal images are in public domain and are free to use.
• Library of Congress: A great source of images. Many images are in the public domain.
• Publicdomainpictures.net
• The photo archive at Gimp-Savvy.com
• If the work was published in the U.S. before January 1, 1923, you are free to use it in the U.S. without permission

Available to the Rice Community via Artstor, a database that Fondren library subscribes to

• Artstor Digital Library: has subsets of thousands of images that are "free" and can be used for publication either under a license for  "Images for Academic Publishing Program (IAP)" or Commons Zero (CC0) license.
